At a packed Town Hall on Saturday night, two boys and seven girls competed for the honour of being chosen to represent their Parish in 2010.
With the standard of entry very high, the judges had an extremely challenging job in picking two winners. In the end, they chose 18 year old Sarah Watson for Miss St Helier and 25 year old Wayne Stewart as Mr St Helier.
Sarah, who will go on to represent the Parish in the Miss Battle competition, is a student at Jersey College for Girls who enjoys singing, being involved in concerts and shows, reading and taking part in sports.
Wayne is a photographer / studio manager and promoter. He enjoys playing the banjo, stand-up comedy, acting, writing, photography, music and travel.
Congratulations to the winners, and thanks for all the contestants for coming forward to take part. A special thanks also for Peter and Jane Pearce of Pearce the Jewellers for kindly donating prizes for the winners and the contestants.
A raffle held on the night raised just over £200, with the proceeds going to the Cheshire Homes appeal.
