Stuart Syvret confirmed in front of a packed Assembly Room last night that he will be bidding to regain his old seat in the By Election for Senator on 16 June. 

Sentorial By Election 16 June 2010The number of prospective candidates for Senator continues to rise steadily and the latest count is 10 names.

Just yesterday afternoon, a Press Release from Suzette Hase confirmed she has joined the growing number of hopefuls for 16 June. Miss Hase narrowly missed out in 2008 by a single vote in St Helier number 3.

Former Deputies Gerard Baudains and Patrick Ryan, together with current St Helier number 2 Deputy Geoff Southern, have announced their intentions to stand.

They are joined by Francis Le Gresley, Rod Bryans who stood in St Helier number 2 in 2008, Graeme Jenkins, Phil Maguire who stood in St Clement in 2008 and Gino Risoli.

The nomination meeting will be held at the Town Hall on 25 May at 7.30 pm. Nomination forms can be downloaded from this site, as well as Registration Forms and postal & pre-poll voting applications. You must be registered by noon on 24 May in order to be eligible to vote. You can check to see if your name is on the St Helier Electoral Roll here.
