The Jersey Jazz Festival 2012 - 30th March to 1st April 2012

The 2012 festival line up includes Every year for almost twenty years the Modern Hotel Group have hosted a superb jazz festival at one of our hotels, and 2012 will be no exception.Starting on the morning of Friday 30th March 2012 the Mayfair Hotel will be filled with the rhythmic buzz of the very best quality jazz music from all over the world, played by musicians based in the UK, Jersey and Guernsey, right up until late on Sunday 1st April 2012.

Headline Act:

• Dennis 'Badbone' Rollins and Velocity (UK) - the internationally famous jazz trombonist fronts his trio Velocity as the 2012 headline act.

Also in the festival line up is:

• The Simon Spillett Quartet (UK), featuring Simon Spillett himself, Alex John Critchinson, and Clark Tracey (son of piano icon Stan Tracey)
• The Linley Weir Trio (UK) with their hauntingly beautiful jazz vocals accompanied by amazingly charismatic backing duo Danny Kean and Tom Fry.
• The Blam Quartet (UK) and their international modern jazz inspired by the far flung countries of origin of each of the band's members.
• The Sam Orchard Quartet, a Guernsey jazz four-piece which are the leading names on the Guernsey jazz scene.
• The David Andre Quintet, a newly put together quintet made up of Jersey's finest musicians.
