Romeo and Juliet- 10th March & 11th March 2012

The Moscow city ballet is here in Jersey performing probably the worlds best known love story, Romeo and Juliet. The Moscow City Ballet has had great success in the UK with over 800 performances since 1991. Victor Smirnov-Golovanov's staging, all the hustle and bustle of Renaissance Verona is brought to life in this powerful production.
Romantic, heartbreaking and unforgettable, Moscow City Ballet performs Shakespeare’s tragic tale of ‘star-crossed lovers’ to Prokofiev’s emotive score, a master piece in 20th century music. This powerful production expresses true love striving against familial rivalry. The ballet follows the fate of the star-crossed teenage lovers from their first meeting to their untimely and tragic death.
“The truly breath taking ballet leaves the audience spellbound, and their reluctance to let the dancers leave the stage at the end of the performance was the proof that this was a truly spellbinding production”
