The Future Jersey public consultation has reached the halfway
point but have you added your voice yet?
Published in July, Future Jersey gives residents a sense of how
the Island's first shared, long-term vision is taking shape and
asks whether you think it is heading in the right direction.
It describes ten social, environmental and economic outcomes,
which are key to our quality of life, and explains how we can track
Jersey's progress towards them. It then sets long-term ambitions
for the future, covering everything from sport and culture, to
traffic, green space and housing.
There are several town-related ambitions, including how
residents rate St Helier as a place to live and satisfaction with
All the proposed ambitions take into account where current
trends are taking Jersey and the response from Islanders to last
year's successful My Jersey survey.
Residents are being asked to take five minutes to explore the
ambitions at www.shapingourfuture.gov.je.
You can dip in and out, comment on whether you would change the
ambitions for any particular outcome and why, and come back to
complete the rest.
Future Jersey is part of an ongoing project to create a shared,
community vision, and so far 14,000 people have visited www.shapingourfuture.gov.je
to be part of it.
Comments on Future Jersey can be submitted up to 4th October
2017, when the consultation closes. Copies of the Future Jersey
discussion document are available here at the Town Hall, in the
reception of Cyril Le Marquand House, at the States' Bookshop and
at the Town Library.
