RHS Show Tatton Park, Cheshire 2010
The Parish of St Helier win Gold Award in the RHS/Ball Colegrave National Flower Bed Competition.
Our theme for this years exhibit was "Simply The Best" showcasing a Jersey cow and her calf in a landscaped flower bed. All plant materials were grown by the Parks team at the St Helier Greenhouses. The team staging the exhibit were Dale Hector, Richard Allo and Jacques Callec, they will be joined by Peter Goguelin, Superintendent.
The exhibit was supported by members of the St Helier in Bloom Group Carl Danby, Michelle Le Cornu and Debbie Jeal who helped in the preparation of the cow and calf. We would also like to thank the RJA&HS and RHS for their help and support. The RHS have contributed to the travel costs to enable the Parks team to attend the Show.
Tony Andrews, Director of Parks, Cemeteries & Open Spaces would like to express his thanks to all those involved in the exhibit including those who worked behind the scenes for all their hard work that resulted in this award.
Constable Simon Crowcroft said that this has been an extremely worthwhile project which has enabled the staff to liaise closely with other Municipal Parks Departments as well as acquiring new skills which will benefit the Town Parks and Gardens.
