St Helier House
St.Helier House is a 56 bed residential home situated overlooking Peoples Park with extensive views of St Aubins Bay. The home offers single occupancy accommodation for persons over 65 years, it is close to the shops and has a bus stop very close by.
Facilities
The home provides care for a range of residents from those with good mobility and indepependence to those with more limited mobility requiring more assistance with their personal care.
The home is divided into six floors. The ground and first floors include the kitchen, hairdressing room, dining room and main lounge with various office and staff facilities. The residents' bedrooms can be found on floors two through to five. Each room has a call system to summon assistance.
Each floor has toilets, bathing /showering facilities and a mini kitchen where residents, family and friends can make hot or cold drinks, and each floor also has a lounge which faces south and gives the residents a panoramic view from La Colette to Noirmont Point.
Social Activites
An extensive social activities programme is organised weekly and ranges from island tours, coffee mornings, gardening, theatre trips, restaurant and pub outings, bingo and crafts. An ever-changing stock of library books and DVD's are available, Many books in larger print. Newspapers can be ordered by request, to be paid for by yourself.
If you currently attend any day centres or social clubs, arrangements can be made for this to continue. Similarly your own GP can make visits and family nursing & homecare provide support services to all Parish homes.
Staff
The Home Manager has overall responsibility for the home, its residents and staff. The staff team is made up of qualified health care professionals and ancillary staff. The residents' immediate needs will be met by carers, who are available 24-hours a day. Each room has a call system to summon assistance. Housekeeping staff will clean all residents' rooms and communal areas on a daily basis. Kitchen staff provide a varied and nutritious daily menu, and will endeavour to meet any special dietary needs.
