St Helier Youth Committee
The St Helier Youth Committee (SHYC), looks after all issues relating to young people and also facilities for young people within the Parish of St Helier. The SHYC works closely with the Youth Service to give help and financial support to various youth projects throughout the Parish. It is also responsible for allocating grants to groups and also individuals.
La Motte Street Youth Centre
La Motte Street provides a focal point for young people’s social time and events alongside resources and facilities for music recording and rehearsal, dance development, web authoring, photography, video and drama perFormance - and the programme grows weekly.
We have over 600 members, from ages 14-18years old. Membership is free – simply fill in a form the first time you come to visit!

YES - Youth Enquiry Service
The Youth Enquiry Service offers free and confidential information, advice and counselling to anyone aged 14 - 25. A drop-in center is based at La Motte Street, where young people can access information and support on a range of issues such as education, employment, health, money, relationships and more. YES also offers a free 1-to-1 counselling service.

Stop the drop (Bin your gum) campaign
The students of Haute Vallée school and the Parish of St Helier combined their efforts to launch the 'Stop the drop' campaign on the streets of St Helier, promoting throwing chewing gum away in the bins provided instead of on the streets and pathways.
La Pouquelaye Youth and Community Centre
This Parish-based centre offers numerous events, gatherings and projects for all ages. A Youth Centre evening is held every Tuesday evening between 18:30 and 20:30 for years 7 and 8, and on Wednesday evenings between 19:00 and 21:30 for years 9 plus.
Events and projects range from dance classes, baby and toddler groups, photography clubs, cookery, craft, art, music, outings and much more.
Please note that the Community Centre will be closed between 1 January and 1 June 2010.

La Motte Street Youth Centre

TEAM: is a 12 week personal development programme aimed at young people aged between 16 and 25 who fall into any or all of the following situations: unemployed, young or ex-young offenders, in or leaving social care, homeless or excluded from school.
The participants will take part in a 5 day off-Island residential plan and carry out community projects, 2 weeks' voluntary work experience, community challenges to benefit people in the community and a final presentation of their 12 weeks in front of the VIPs and invited guests.
