The Parish has shown its commitment to doing something Awesome for Autism by sourcing a uniquely-coloured refuse truck, fully branded to promote and raise awareness of the Autism Jersey charity.

Gemma Dawkins, Fundraising and Awareness Manager at Autism Jersey, said 'Autism is a difference, not a disorder, and therefore it's really important to take any opportunity to help the community to understand more about this different way of being; to create a supportive, nurturing environment and support the needs of autistic people in Jersey.'

The Constable of St Helier, Simon Crowcroft, said 'The Parish is delighted to be able to offer another opportunity to an extremely worthwhile local charity, enabling it to promote its important work in the community in this way. The Autism Jersey vehicle will join the majority of the Parish's vehicle fleet in being colourfully emblazoned with positive messages and useful information for the community.'
