On 10th July 2019, the Roads Committee approved alterations to Richmond Road’s on-street parking in response to safety concerns raised with regard to the existing on-street parking on the east and west sides. When vehicles are parked on both sides, this narrows the clear carriageway significantly and results in the clear space being extremely tight for emergency services to access Richmond Road. The narrow clear roadway width with the parked cars is also causing access problems for refuse vehicles and delivery/service companies with large vehicles (i.e. oil delivery).
The changes include the reduction of 4 resident’s parking spaces and 9 visitor spaces, and footpath widening to the east and west.
The works will start on Monday 16th September 2019 and are expected to last 4½ weeks.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused: we will ensure access is available to residents; however, should you have any problems, please do not hesitate to contact the Roads & Facilities Manager, Rob Gilmore, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 07797 722882.
