As part of the transition to Level 2 of the Island’s Safe Exit Framework, St Helier’s play facilities are now open for children to enjoy.
All the Island’s playgrounds were closed in line with Government guidelines on 23rd March. The Parish operates playgrounds in Parade Gardens, First Tower Park, Clos Vaze, People’s Park, and South Hill. During the closure, the Parish has undertaken maintenance on some of its facilities, most noticeably the equipment in Parade Gardens has been re-painted ready for today’s re-opening. The Parish’s playgrounds are regularly monitored and cleaned for the safety of all those using them.
Government guidelines advise parents to ‘make sure you and your children sanitise their hands after using these facilities to reduce COVID-19 risk as others will also be touching them.’
Simon Crowcroft, Constable of St Helier, said: “I am delighted that our playgrounds are open once again; these fantastic facilities are really valued by both families living in town and those visiting, and I have no doubt their re-opening will be appreciated by children and their families.”
