Final preparations underway for La Fête dé Noué

Father Christmas is coming to town to officially launch La Fète dé Noué!

La Fête dé Noué kicks off on Thursday 18th November with the annual Christmas Lights Switch On, courtesy of Father Christmas himself. Join the fun of the Parade leaving the Millennium Town Park from 6.30pm, travelling down through West’s Centre, along Queen and King Streets, through Charing Cross, past Liberation Bus Station, and up Conway Street to the Royal Square, ending up at Weighbridge Place with a spectacular firework display.

Thursday 18th November also marks the start of late-night shopping every Thursday right up until 23rd December.

Christmas Sunday shopping also returns to the St Helier town centre from 21st November. Do keep an eye on individual stores’ social media pages for specific opening hours.

While you’re there, why not have your say on which store is “top of the shops” in the annual Parish of St Helier Christmas Windows Competition. For details on how to vote, head to www.sthelier.je/whats-on. Results will be announced on the 2nd December at the Genuine Jersey Simply Christmas Market, being held in the Royal Square from 25th – 28th November, and again between 2nd and 5th December and opening at 10am each day - beautiful gifts, delicious food, and live music too.

The Norman Market will return to St Helier at the Weighbridge with a variety of products from the Normandy region from Thursday 9th to Sunday 12th December. And the town centre will come alive with the sounds of music throughout December from people such as the Jersey Scout Band, the Dolphin Marching Band, Brass Souls, Les Chaboleurs (traditional Jèrriais carollers) and much, much more.

It’s not just music in the town centre, you may well also meet some cheeky elves and some of your favourite Disney characters too.
