New pedestrian crossing on Janvrin Road

New pedestrian crossing on Janvrin Road

New pedestrian crossing on Janvrin Road:

The Parish of St Helier will shortly be installing a pedestrian crossing on Janvrin Road (south), at the junction with Byron Lane, with the objective of encouraging students to walk to Springfield Primary School by providing a safer and more attractive walking route.

The works will commence on Monday 1st August 2022 and comprise of a footpath build-out on Janvrin Road and Byron Lane with bollards and a crossing point with Belisha beacons. To accommodate this change 1 residents’ parking space will be removed; fewer permits have been issued in the St Mark’s area to deal with this loss of a space and consequently we now have more spaces available per permit than in previous years which will, we hope, provide some mitigation for the loss of the parking space.

Brenwal, undertaking the works on behalf of the Parish, will be in touch shortly with traffic management information.
