As part of the Island Plan Review, we have commissioned work to update the 1999 Jersey Countryside Character Appraisal and to extend its coverage to include marine parts of the Bailiwick.
There are a number of changes and pressures affecting the character of the landscapes and seascapes of Jersey, and the new Jersey Integrated Landscape and Seascape Character Assessment ('ILSCA') will reflect these changes and will also look ahead to make recommendations for the protection and enhancement of landscape and seascape character in the future.
The workshop will be led by Fiona Fyfe, who is leading the team of consultant landscape architects working with us on the ILSCA. The session will begin with a short presentation introducing the project and the concept of landscape and seascape character assessment, which will be followed by small group discussions.
