Here are the details of various Liberation Day celebrations taking place this year:
- 7.30am – 9.30am : Liberation Day Breakfast in the Town Hall’s Assembly Room. Islanders present at the Liberation of Jersey on 9th May 1945 and those who liberated us, including past and present members of the Armed Forces, are invited to the Breakfast. - 10.30am : Liberation Day Commemoration. States sitting and procession from the Royal Square to Liberation Square for service of commemoration and celebration. Application forms for seats are available from the Town Hall’s Customer Services Department, so please pop in to secure your place.
- 3pm-5pm : Liberation Day Afternoon Tea in the Town Hall’s Assembly Room. - 3pm Remembrance Service at the Slaveworkers’ Memorial at Westmount Crematorium. All welcome. Further information can be obtained by contacting Gary Font at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 07797 716749.
