From Easter this year the Parish has provided a series of free weekly
two hour guided walks open to all comers. The aim is to encourage a
greater knowledge of the Parish's rich history for the benefit of
parishioners, as well as supporting Jersey's tourism industry - which
will also assist the town's retail and hospitality sectors. The
programme of walks has been devised by Tom Bunting, whose 'Murder, Muck
and Mayhem' walk has been enjoyed by hundreds over the years, and will
feature some of the Island's experienced and qualified Blue Badge Guides
as well as experts on St Helier's maritime history and wartime
Join tour guide Pete Webb for 'St Helier Takes to the Air' on Thursday 12th September. Adventures of the sea take us to prioneers of the air; stories of aviation that gave birth to a passenger port on the beach. Fantastic tales wrapped in sculptures, fountains and strange floor art. On the scene, famous names: Lillie Langtry, Victor Hugo (Les Mis), Sir Walter Raleigh and King Charles II. All this being embraced with a luxurious yacht marina as a backdrop, for the annual Jersey Triathlon.
