From Easter this year the Parish is providing a series of free weekly two hour guided walks which will be open to all comers. The aim is to encourage a greater knowledge of the Parish's rich history for the benefit of parishioners, as well as supporting Jersey's tourism industry - which will also assist the town's retail and hospitality sectors. The programme of walks has been devised by Tom Bunting, whose 'Murder, Muck and Mayhem' walk has been enjoyed by hundreds over the years, and will feature some of the Island's experienced and qualified Blue Badge Guides as well as experts on St Helier's maritime history and wartime experiences.
Join tour guide Pete Webb for 'The Waterfront Centre Experience' on Thursday 30th May. Experience St Helier's Waterfront Centre - on land claimed from the sea, the Centre's hub with sculptures, art, fountains and famous names (Lily Langtry, Victor Hugo), a grand atrium's quirky message, local ship building and an embracing luxurious yacht marina as a backdrop for the annual Jersey Triathlon. Finally, Jersey's connection with New Jersey, USA.
No booking is necessary - simply turn up at the Town Hall on the day for a 10.30am start.
For more information on any of the walks please telephone Tom on 07797 780868.
